- Arthur Frommer: Miami bustles as a cosmopolitan city
I am surrounded by Brazilian restaurants, Argentinian steakhouses and Peruvian grills. As I walk along a beachside boulevard, I pass Cuban groceries and sidewalk cafes frequented by people reading Spanish-language books (easily viewed by a passerby). Where am I?
Sun, 05 Feb 2012 06:35:44 -0800 - Lots of mild interest in Johnny Damon, nothin’ serious
Two years ago, about 77% of our January-February posts were about Johnny Damon. This year? Not a ton, really. Aging is hard. But after all of the ink we spilled back then — our first offseason on this blog — I still sort of feel like this is Johnny Damon season. So I pass along…

So lately, I've been obsessed with colorful pumps. I can't get them out of my mind. Whenever I pass them in a store I pause and ooh and ahhh. My boyfriend is pretty sick of it. Just buy some already, he says. But you know me. I've gotta have options. I need some opinions. I'm also picky when it comes to heels. If they're going to be sky-high, I demand at least a smigen of comfort. Is that too ...
Thu, 26 Jan 2012 08:04:05 -0800 - Allison Mooney: Jalopy is rite of passage
Childhood isn't complete until you've come in last place once or ended up with pencil lead embedded somewhere in your body. Likewise, young adulthood isn't complete until you've owned, been stranded by, or — at the very least — ridden in a jalopy. I pass muster on all counts, down to the graphite chunk in my right palm.
